At my youngest son’s preschool class they have a rug with different shapes on it. My son has been assigned to the “RED SQUARE.” When his teacher begins the lesson, Barrett sits on his shape facing forward and listening. However, if he decides that he NO LONGER desires to participate anymore, he simply TURNS AROUND, on his red square, with his BACK facing the teacher. Thus saying, “I might still be sitting here, but I’m DONE with this and I’m NOT listening anymore.”⠀
Although it is a funny visual and...I might have had a good laugh at the thought, I, of course, took it seriously when the teacher discussed this with me. After I spoke with Barrett about his “red square” shenanigans, the Holy Spirit nudged me. Have we TURNED AROUND on our “red square,” having our back towards our Teacher?⠀
Friend, you might be in a season that has brought RELENTLESS obstacles and you have grown weary and frustrated. Or, you are DISAPPOINTED at the timing of God, as you stare at unanswered prayers. Silently you have REPOSITIONED your heart, “God, I am not looking at You right now or listening. Until you do it my way, I am done.”⠀
Your Father is speaking to YOU today, “Do not give up on Me now!” Turn back around, friend, and gaze upon the PERFECTER of your faith. Today, tune into His voice to find HOPE and COMFORT. Remain ENGAGED in the process, allowing your Teacher to counsel you along the way. This is not the end, He is always at work FOR YOU!
