Why is it that we allow our minds to be our own worst enemy? It's no secret that many people are dealing with anxiety, social awkwardness, and fear. In fact, I'm one of those people. I am not clinically depressed, or someone who has been diagnosed with anxiety, but truthfully, my mind is constantly telling me otherwise. It tells me to fear what others think, to feel awkward in social situations, and "hey you're a p.o.s. why would anyone care about what you have to say?". How many people failed to be what God wants them to be because they've allowed anxiety, fear and depression to control their lives? 1 Peter 5:7 says... Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you... God cares about us, and at the end of the day, that's the only thing that should be the driving force in our lives. To cast your burdens on Jesus, is to know that he will free you from whatever is shackling your life. It's never to late to allow Jesus to be the driving force in our lives and be who we were always meant to be.
Father God, thank you for allowing me to lay my burdens at the cross. It is through Your Son Jesus, that I know I can be freed from whatever is shackling my life. Help me to be reminded that anxiety, depression and fear are not real, and they are lies straight from the devil. In Jesus' precious name I pray, amen!
